How it works, why it works, and what to do if it doesn't
Converting YouTube videos to MP3 has become harder in 2025–2026 because YouTube actively fights back against audio extractors — changing how streams are delivered, rotating URLs, adding bot detection, and geo-blocking IP ranges in many countries including Pakistan. Most free converter tools fail because they rely on a single service that YouTube regularly breaks.

Here's exactly what happens when you click Convert: our PHP backend contacts yt1s.com first — a reliable two-step analyze-then-convert service. If that times out or returns an error, it automatically tries yt1s.com mirror, then yt5s.io, then y2meta.com, and finally cnvmp3.com. Each service is completely independent, so a YouTube block affecting one doesn't affect the others. The whole waterfall runs in the background — you just see the result.
All five services use the same underlying pattern: they receive a YouTube video ID, extract the audio stream from YouTube's servers (running their own server infrastructure), transcode it to MP3, and return a temporary download link. That link is passed back through our server to your browser. At no point does your IP address directly contact YouTube's audio delivery network.
The conversion services we use are free and publicly shared. During peak hours — particularly mornings in the US, evenings in Europe — they handle enormous traffic and can be slow. If the first API takes 15 seconds to respond and fails, our code waits up to 28 seconds per API while polling for the result. Yes — this is the key advantage of our server-side proxy approach. Your browser sends the YouTube URL to our server. Our server makes all the conversion requests from its hosting datacenter IP. YouTube never sees your IP address. This completely bypasses the geo-blocks that prevent browser-based tools from working in Pakistan and other regions.
There's no limit set by our tool. You can convert as many as you want. The only practical constraints are the free public services we use — if you convert many videos rapidly they may slow down, but simply waiting a minute resets this.

The conversion services generate temporary download links that typically expire after 1–6 hours. These services don't store files permanently — they convert on demand and deliver a short-lived link. If your link has expired, simply convert the video again (it usually takes only a few seconds for popular videos that the service has cached).
